Bulkley Valley · October to March

Five nights a week,
October to March.

Doubles, women’s, men’s, seniors and a fun league. No experience necessary.

The nights

Games every week through the season. No experience necessary.

Tuesday Doubles Put my name down
Wednesday Women’s Put my name down
Thursday Men’s Put my name down
Friday Seniors Put my name down
Friday Fun League Put my name down

Fees are not shown here because the club does not publish them. In a live build this is where they would sit, next to the button.

Read from the live site, 30 July 2026

In the last week of July the front page is still thanking February.

The main block on the home page

“Thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, competitors and spectators that participated in the 2026 Steelhead and Edelweiss Bonspiels”

20–22 February 2026 — 5 months ago.

No way to register from the site

The leagues are listed with their nights, but joining one means finding a phone number and remembering to ring during office hours. That is a lot of friction for something somebody decides to do at ten at night.

A placeholder address on the contact page

The contact page still carries user@domain.com, left over from the template the site was built from. Small, but it is sitting on the page whose entire job is getting hold of you.

None of this is a criticism of anyone. A club run by volunteers updates its website when somebody has an evening spare, and in February everybody is curling.

More than league nights

Try Curling

A first go on the ice for people who have never held a broom.

Lessons

Adults and juniors.

Practice ice

Sheets outside league nights.

Bonspiels

The Steelhead and the Edelweiss, plus special events.

Private events

A fully equipped hall with full bar service — weddings and Christmas parties.

Rentals

The hall is available to book.

What would change, in order

1

Lead with the season, not the last one

From July the front page should say when leagues start and how to get on one. The bonspiel thank-you moves to news, where it belongs.

2

Let people sign up on a phone

Pick a night, pick a league, put your name down. Clubs that do this fill their sheets earlier.

3

Say what a season costs

Fees are the first question and are not published anywhere at the moment.

4

Clear the template leftovers

One real address on the contact page, and nothing on it that was never meant to be seen.
